DETECTIVES investigating the cause of a major blaze in Coventry have this morning arrested a 48-year-old man on suspicion of arson.
The fire, which raged throughout yesterday evening, led to road closures and a giant smoke stack which was easily visible from across Rugby.
The man was arrested shortly before 10am in connection with last night’s fire, which is being treated as suspicious. The cause as yet remains unclear. Siskin Drive in Coventry will remain closed all day while emergency services remain at the scene. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Anyone with information which may aid the investigation should call Coventry police or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
