Man died following A45 collision near Ryton on Dunsmore

POLICE are investigating the circumstances of a fatal crash that happened yesterday (Sunday).

The collision occurred at approximately 1.15am when the driver of a black Porsche lost control of the vehicle hitting a telegraph pole and trees before coming to rest on the nearside verge.

The driver and only occupant of the Porsche, a 26 year old man from Leamington Spa, died shortly after he was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire for emergency treatment.

The road was closed for several hours to allow emergency services to attend the scene and to make the road safe for other road users.

Any witnesses to the collision or who saw the Porsche or any other vehicles driving towards Coventry on the A45 at around 1am on Sunday morning are please asked to contact the Major Investigation Unit Roads on (01926) 415415.
