A man whose body was discovered in a tent next to the river just off Newbold Road has been formally identified following a police appeal for information.

e The man’s body was found on Tuesday, May 3 and he has since been identified as a 53-year-old man from Rugby.

Police say his death is not being treated as suspicious and the case has been referred to the coroner.

A file has been prepared for the coroner who will open an investigation pending the results of a post mortem, which took place yesterday (Thursday).

A police spokesman said they will not be releasing the man’s name out of respect for the family’s wishes.
