A man was left with lacerations to his face after being attacked with a bladed weapon in Rugby yesterday (Thursday).

Police were called to Oxford Street at 5.15pm to what they describe as an “isolated incident”.

The victim, a 41-year-old man, sustained lacerations to his face after he was assaulted by two men.

A witness, who declined to be named, said the weapon looked like a saw.

Police are searching for the two assailants. They are described as African-Caribbean, in their late 20s and under 6ft tall.

Any witnesses should call the police on 101, quoting incident 247 of October 23.
