Man taken to hospital with suspected broken jaw after being attacked in the early hours of the morning in Rugby town centre

A MAN was attacked near Costa Coffee at the weekend.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault which occurred in the High Street near Costa Coffee at about 1am on Saturday.

The man was walking with a gang of friends when someone ran up behind him and hit him in the face, causing him to fall over.

The injured man walked with a friend to St Cross Hospital and was transferred to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for an operation on his jaw that is believed to be broken in two places.
