YOUNGSTERS across Rugby have been enjoying half term sporting fun thanks to a supermarket.

Asda in Chapel Street launched its Sporting Chance programme for children in Rugby to keep them busy, happy and active during the school holidays this week.

Sporting Chance gives children the chance to try a new sport for free and to make new friends at the same time in order to inspire them ahead of the countdown to the London 2012 Olympics.

There was a range of Sporting Chance activities for children to choose from including football, cricket, athletics, swimming, dance and martial arts.

One of the groups involved in Sporting Chance is Gannons Martial Arts in Rugby which visited the Asda store the week before half term.

The group put on a special demonstration for shoppers and to raise the profile of the voucher scheme.
