Modern art comes in launch show

A CONTEMPORARY new art group will be hosting its first exhibition in Rugby.

Edge Arts Collective is an exciting new project to showcase cutting-edge art across the country.

The group of artists, who graduated from the University of Northampton, have just launched the Midlands-based group and they will be hosting their first exhibition this month in Rugby.

Edge Arts Collective members include Emma Carpendale, Ann Crearie, Leanne Gilroy, Coreen Harris, Donna Thacker, Kate Thomas, Jill Wales and Hazel Walker.

Some of the artists live in Rugby while the others all live within a 30 mile radius of the town.

They are share a passion for art and they have been busy working on the debut exhibition for the last few months.

Visitors to the Edge Arts Collective exhibition, which will be on show at the Verve bar in town, can except to see a wide variety of contemporary art from members.

Work will include paintings, illustrations, fine art, sculpture, photography and illustrations.

The exhibition is free to enter and many of the pieces will be available for sale.

The exhibition runs from Thursday, November 10 until Saturday, December 3 at the gallery in the newly refurbished Verve bar in North Street, Rugby.

The exhibition will open from 4pm until late.
