Thieves have once again been targeting bicycles in Rugby - but one attempt was foiled by a lock.

During the night of October 3 into 4, a burglar broke into a shed in the garden of a home in Lawrence Road. One pink Raleigh ladies’ bike was stolen, and another cycle was propped against a tree in a neighbouring garden.

And between October 2 and 5, offenders damaged a security light in the garden of a home in Murray Road and then cut the locks securing bikes together, but failed to get all the way through. A trellis was also damaged but nothing was stolen.

Numerous thefts of bicycles have been reported in the town over the past few months.

Call the police on 101 with any information about these crimes.
