SEVERN Trent is progressing with its work to replace the water mains in Addison Road after several bursts on the main caused disruption to the water supply for residents.

Jonathan Tait, programme manager for Severn Trent said: “So far we have replaced nearly 300m of the main which had burst recently. We still have 550m to go but by working closely with our Public Health team we are making good progress. Using special working methods we are able to connect customers onto the new main as we go – so all customers on the first 300m of the problem main have been transferred and their supply secured so they won’t be affected by any further work.

From next week we will have 4 way traffic lights set up at the junction of Addison Road and Lawford Road. This will allow us to work safely up to the busy junction and will keep traffic flowing around the works.

We aim to complete the works and have all customers supplied by the new pipe by the end of September.”
