BOBBIES on the beat in Rugby were joined by the town’s MP for the day.
Mark Pawsey spent the day with police officers last week, followed by another day with an ambulance crew. Mr Pawsey wanted to experience the day-to-day goings on of the police and ambulance.
He said: “As the chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Emergency Services, which is looking at ways of promoting greater inter-operability between the emergency services, it has been of great value for me to have spent a day during the parliamentary recess with hard working members of both the police and the ambulance services.
“I shall also soon be spending a day with the fire and rescue service where I shall look to add to the hands-on experience gained by my time with the police and the ambulance service which has provided me with a greater appreciation of the challenges faced by our emergency services personnel on a daily basis.”
