SCORES of people queued up just to get a glimpse of him.
But it wasn’t just children who wanted to see green- fingered CBeebies presenter Mr Bloom in the flesh.
Mothers seemed just as eager to meet Ben Foulkes when he visited Daisykins day nursery on Saturday. He could be described as Jamie Oliver for the under-sixes, explaining how vegetables grow from his idyllic garden nursery.
Mr Bloom, who is known for his catchphrase ‘Ullo tiddlers’ said: “The idea behind the show is to get children inspired by the world around them and learn about nature.
“This is my first visit to Rugby and I’m really impressed with the nursery. It’s Rugby Children’s Food Festival and I think it’s great to start children early thinking about food and where it comes from.”
Daisykins owner Pam Simpkins and the other nursery staff had no idea the event would be so popular.
“We were overwhelmed with the amount of people who turned up,” she said.
“Mr Bloom was very popular with everyone. He put on little shows using his vegetables.”
