A SWEET shop has had its windows and doors smashed three times by youths loitering near McDonalds in the town centre.
Mr Simm’s Olde Sweet Shoppe has had its windows put through twice in five days and had its door damaged. Karen Bromage, who works in the shop, said: “Young people loiter outside here after school and on two occasions windows were smashed – once due to a football coming through the window and once during a fight. We no longer feel safe and it’s costing us a lot of money.”
A police spokesperson said: “We are working with the borough council to address the problem of nuisance youths in the town centre, particularly after school hours.”
