A FUNDRAISING ball held in memory of a much-loved mother has helped raise more than £1,200 for Cancer Research UK.

Nearly 30 ladies attended the ball, held by Joanne Wiles at Brownsover Hall Hotel.

It was in honour of her mother Marlene, who lost her battle with pancreatic cancer aged 46.

Joanne, who lives in Rugby, said: “I would really love to thank everyone who helped make the night a success, including Tracey Lawson who stood by me all the time, and kept me going when things were really hard.

“I am sure that my mum would have been watching over on the night and would be thrilled with what we all achieved.”

She said her husband, John, is her ‘rock’ adding: “He has supported and encouraged me every step of the way, and of course my family for their ongoing love and support.”
