Staff at the brand new Homebase store at Technology Retail Park were joined by Myton Hospice to mark its opening at the weekend.

Customers were also treated to host of activities for the whole family, including face painting, demonstrations and the chance to speak to home and garden experts including gold medal winning Chelsea garden designer Adam Frost.

There was a special appearance from Spud the Dulux dog.

Chris Cullinan, the Homebase store manager, said “The store looks fantastic and we expect it to be a massive hit with the local residents. Our new team can’t wait to help customers with their home and garden projects.”

The new store offers a ‘Design Studio’ where customers will be able to book a one-to-one home appointment with a qualified Home Stylist; a 50 cover café serving hot and cold meals at breakfast, lunch and dinner time; as well as range of decorating, DIY and gardening products, alongside home accessories and furniture.

“I would encourage everyone to come down and have a look at the new store where you’re bound to walk out with a new idea for your home or garden,” said Chris.
