A new leaflet highlights the range of support on offer to Rugby residents affected by recent changes to the benefits system.

Managing Your Money and Lifestyle has been published by the Rugby Local Strategic Partnership (LSP), and includes a wealth of information about housing and benefits, dealing with debt, affordable banking, living on a budget, and looking for work.

The leaflet was prompted by welfare reforms introduced in April, and includes information and contact details for the likes of Rugby Citizens Advice Bureau, Rugby Credit Union, Rugby Borough Council’s benefits team, and job clubs run by the Benn Partnership Centre and the New Bilton Community Association.

Copies of the leaflet can be picked up from Warwickshire Community and Voluntary Action’s (CAVA) Rugby office in North Street, reception at the Town Hall, libraries, doctor’s surgeries, and community organisations.

The leaflet can also be downloaded online at rugby.gov.uk/site/scripts/download_info.php?fileID=6023

Cllr Leigh Hunt, chair of the Rugby Local Strategic Partnership, said the leaflet promoted the wide range of help and support on offer to residents.

“A number of organisations in Rugby can help residents tackle everyday challenges, such as dealing with debt, living on a tight budget, or searching for a job,” Cllr Hunt said.

“The Managing Your Money and Lifestyle leaflet puts all the important information at your fingertips, and can be an important first step in tackling such challenges.”

The Rugby LSP comprises Rugby Borough Council, Warwickshire County Council, NHS Warwickshire, Warwickshire Police, and a range of other organisations from the voluntary, community, and business sectors.

It works to make Rugby a better place to live, work and visit.
