The new logo for St Oswald’s Primary School is a real head turner.

An owl symbol was selected by the school and then children and their families were invited to contribute by drawing or painting owls.

Vicky Mullholland, nursery teacher and artist, then took ideas from the selection to compose a final logo.

To celebrate the launch, Ian McGuire from Wild Owl Educational Services spent time with the children, complete with a live owl.

Headteacher Hilary Lorimer said: “The children were thrilled to meet the barn owl which flew across the hall and pooed on cue!”
