RUGBY Borough Council is offering a new play opportunity for children aged 5-13 for free.

This is part of the ongoing council play strategy which aims to encourage children to explore the natural environment and be challenged in their outdoor play.

Based in Caldecott Park and at the GEC Recreation Ground, council play rangers will be offering children a free hour-long play session every Sunday afternoon starting on 1 July and running throughout the summer. Activities on offer will include circus skills, den making, treasure hunts, team games and much more. The sessions will be outside, whatever the weather, so children may get muddy and use paint and glue so need to dress in old clothes.

The rangers will be at the GEC recreation ground from 1-2 pm and at Caldecott Park from 3-4pm. There is no need to pre-register so children can just turn up and play. Under 8’s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+.

Further information is available from the council play officer on (01788) 533655.
