A new waste site in Rugby will bring nearly 50 jobs to the area.
The £18 million facility at Malpass Farm will turn household and business waste into a fuel which can be used, instead of coal, at the nearby CEMEX cement works.
Mark Wynn, production regional manager with SITA UK, said: “At the new site we’ll be putting waste which previously went to landfill, to good use. Construction is going well and we’ll start commissioning very soon.
“This is when we test all of the equipment and procedures before the site is fully operational, which we expect to be early next year.
“We’ll be looking for shift managers, team leaders, maintenance technicians, weigh bridge and plant operators and administration staff to work on site.”
