An ‘extra care’ housing scheme for older people in Pettiver Crescent has opened its show flat to the public.

Representatives from care organisation Housing & Care 21, Warwickshire County Council, Rugby Borough Council, and contractor Wilmott Dixon joined Cllr Jerry Roodhouse, Cllr Kathryn Lawrence and Cllr Jose Compton, who cut the ribbon at Webb Ellis Court on Friday.

The £7.2m development, with funding in part from the Homes and Communities Agency, will provide housing and care services.

At extra care schemes, people can live independently in their own apartments, with access to a care service if or when needed.

The scheme also has a range of facilities including a restaurant, lounge, hair salon, wellbeing suite and a guest suite for friends and family.
