Night for Metal fans in Rugby
RUGBY'S premier metal night is heading back to town for the fourth time tomorrow (Friday) with headliners Whisper in the Riot.
Full Metal Racket, organised Michael Rogers and Andy Walker, has proven to be a huge success with the town's rock and metal community.
Friday's bill features three exciting bands. First up is Go Primitive - an alternative rock band who have risen from the ashes of popular Rugby band Void Illusion. Next comes London-based newcomers Death Trucks who are hoping to make a splash with their first Midlands gig. Headlining is Rugby's Whisper in the Riot, who will be familiar to anyone who has ever been to a metal gig in town.
With a well-established position in the local music scene, Whisper have, in a relatively short space of time, achieved a great deal. With a self produced EP, a string of successful tours including dates in the Czech Republic and a stop motion animation video. Sadly it's time for them to part company with their lead singer Charlie Brind. This will be his last live performance which follows the recording of the band's debut full length album. Whisper will be carrying on with a new vocalist in the near future.
Guitarist Andy Walker said: "Charlie has contributed a huge amount both in terms of his considerable talent and also as a personality. He will be sorely missed. We all wish him the very best."
Full Metal Racket supports charities in and around the town and tomorrow's gig is in aid of Rugby Young Carers.
The event will begin at 7.30pm at the West Indian Club in St. Peter's Road, Rugby, Entry is 3.
