Northlands Primary School has appointed a new headteacher.

Mrs Leah Adams started her new role at the school in Pinder Lane, Rugby, this month.

She was previously the school’s deputy head but has been in an acting headteacher role since December 2013.

Mrs Adams has taught in Rugby for over a decade.

She joined Northlands in 2012 from Henry Hinde Junior School where she was a senior teacher for five years.

Mrs Adams said: “I am delighted to be joining Northlands in the new role of Headteacher.

“Northlands is a close knit community school and it will be a privilege to build on current achievements and lead the school onwards through the next stage of its development.

“I am looking forward to working in collaboration with children, staff, parents, governors and the wider community.”

Mr Orlando Arnold, Northlands’ newly appointed chair of governors, said: “Mrs Adams has proved to be a dynamic force in supporting and implementing improvements and innovations within the school in the relatively short period of time. We are excited about what the future holds.”
