PUPILS at Dunchurch Infant School rubbed shoulders with
Olympic torchbearer Carina Haley on Friday.

She spoke to the children about her work in the community and let them hold the torch.

Secretary Sue Protheroe said: “We thought it would be a lovely idea to get Carina to visit the school to meet everyone and share her experiences.

“She’s a local lady who carried the torch through Warwick.”

Carina was selected in recognition of her tireless charity work.

“She was very obliging and it was very exciting for the children,” said Sue.

Parents also got to meet her, and the children were able to have their photos taken with the torch for £1.

The money raised will be donated to charity.
