A 21-YEAR-OLD man has become the 61st person to be arrested as part of Operation Laser.

On Tuesday this week Nahim Ali, from College Road, Alum Rock, was charged with money laundering.

He is suspected of using money obtained via criminal means to purchase expensive performance cars.

Ali has been released on police bail, to appear before magistrates in Nuneaton on July 19.

He was arrested as part of Operation Laser - a Warwickshire Police operation to crack down on organised crime and the supply of drugs.

The enforcement phase of Operation Laser, a police operation to crack down on organised crime and the supply of drugs, started in November 2011.

It is the largest policing operation of its kind yet undertaken by Warwickshire Police, and has resulted in prison sentences totalling 160 years for the defendants who appeared before Warwick Crown Court in April and May 2012.
