Mothers in Rugby are being encouraged to become ‘buggy mums’ as part of a drive to get more women into sport.
Buggy Mum exercise classes are being held at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Centre in Bruce Williams Way to give mums the opportunity to get back into shape after a new addition to their family.
The classes, supported by CSW Sport, take place on Thursdays from 11am-noon and combine a variety of activities like power walking, light running, toning exercises and exercises.
Hannah Plimmer, instructor at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Centre, said campaigns such as Women’s Sport Week are helping to increase awareness of activities available to women.
She said: “Buggy mums provides light cardio as well as helping to strengthen and tone particular muscle groups.”
