A 71-year-old is creating a buzz as he prepares to have his head shaved into a mohawk for charity.

Alan Ince, of Dewar Close care home in Bilton, is inviting sponsorship before the deed at the end of July.

The former fundraiser for Rugby Rokeby Lions is raising money for Dewar garden project, a resident-run project that will make the home’s grounds more suited to people’s individual hobbies. Dewar Close is run by not-for-profit WCS Care.

Alan, a former personnel manager and TNT driver, raised £462 in sponsorship for the project last year.

He said: “I’m pledging to keep the Mohawk for a couple of week – regardless of how ridiculous I might look!

“I’ve always been into fund raising and have come to the conclusion that the best way to attract sponsorship money is to do something exciting that gets people talking – and I’m hoping this will do the trick. I’ve never worn anything like a mohawk before so I’m more than a little apprehensive.”

Anyone who wants to sponsor Alan can do so by filling in sponsorship form in the entrance of Dewar Close in Bilton.
