The borough’s annual remembrance service and parade took place at the War Memorial gates yesterday (Sunday).
Representatives from 20 contingents, including the Royal British Legion, ex-service organisations, the Territorial Army, Girls’ Brigade and Boys’ Brigade, gathered in Hillmorton Road before marching on parade to the War Memorial gates.
The Salvation Army band provided the music for the borough service, which was followed by a march past of all those on parade.
The service was led by the Rev Imogen Nay, assisted by Father Tony Furlong.
Bilton’s parade was led by Bilton Silver Band.
Today (Monday) maroons will be fired at Rugby Recreation Ground, in Hillmorton Road, at 11am to mark the beginning and the end of a two-minute silence.
