A charity pamper day will be held at a Newbold beauty salon to help a Rugby woman reach her £10,000 target to help beat cancer.

Aphrodite Beauty and Spa will host its Pink To Make You Wink day on Monday May 20.

All proceeds from the day will go to the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity.

The event is the first of many after the salon set itself a target of £1,000 to raise over the year to help former employee Tracie Mills who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

Caroline Nicolaou, owner of Aphrodite, said: “We want to raise £1,000 over the year to help Tracie reach her £10k target.

“We just want to help as much as we can so people can have a pamper knowing it’s also helping the charity.

“We are donating 100 per cent of what we raise that day.”

Tracie took the brave decision to have her hair shaved in March before chemotherapy took away the decision.

Tracie was joined by her best friend Helen Miles for the sponsored shave at Mops Hair Studio in Dunchurch where Tracie works.

A charity event at The Half Moon pub in Lawford Road followed, both raising hundreds of pounds.

Tracie, of Lytham Road, Rugby, was diagnosed with breast cancer on January 2 this year and is determined to help others overcome the disease.

Other fundraising events coming up to help Tracie reach her £10,000 target for Breakthrough Breast Cancer include a fete at Bilton Junior School on June 29 and Race For Life in Rugby on July 21, which will be followed by a family fun day at The Green Man in Dunchurch.

Aphrodite’s Pink To Make You Wink Day will run from 11am to 3pm at the salon in Main Street, Newbold.

There will be a variety of mini treats on offer including nails, facials, massages, waxing, as well as princess treats.

There will be charity stalls at the salon on the day as well as a raffle.

Raffle tickets cost £1 each with the chance to win a fabulous hamper.

Caroline said: “ We have some fabulous goodies that we’re giving away. We are drawing it on the day so people can buy their tickets by popping into the salon.”

Bookings for all the treatments on the day will need to be made in advance,
