Police continue to appeal for witnesses and reassure the public following Newbold Road stabbing

A MAN remains in hospital after being stabbed in town on Saturday morning.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Newbold Road near the Lancaster Road junction at around 6.15am on Saturday, following reports of a serious assault.

A man in his 20s suffered stab wounds in his hand and back.

He is currently in a serious but stable condition in University Hospital in Coventry.

Police closed Newbold Road for the majority of the day while evidence was taken.

A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “Police would like to reassure the public that an investigation has been launched to establish the circumstances.”
