Police release CCTV image after taxi driver assault in Rugby

Rugby police would like to speak to the person pictured in this image in relation to the assault of a taxi driver.

The assault took place at shortly after midnight, in the early hours of Sunday June 30, after the taxi driver picked up two women and a male from the Rugby Club in Lime Tree Avenue, Rugby.

During the journey an argument took place between the passengers in the taxi as it travelled along Bilton Road.

The taxi driver stopped the vehicle and the male got out of the car. He then assaulted the taxi driver, spitting at him and punching him in the face, breaking his nose.

The male then smashed the windscreen of the taxi cab and ran away.

Police would like to speak to the man in the image as he may have valuable information which can assist with the police investigation. They would also like to hear from anyone else who saw the incident.
