Police swooped on Rugby Train Station today after travellers saw what they thought were dangerous weapons.
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “Officers from BTP and Warwickshire Police attended Rugby railway station on Friday, 16 May, following a report at 11.46am of passengers with what appeared to be replica weapons on board a London Midland service travelling between London Euston and Birmingham New Street.
“Two men and two women passengers on the train were detained by officers who boarded the service at Rugby station. All four are currently helping police with their enquiries.
“Officers have recovered what are thought to be toys resembling weapons.
“At no point were any members of the public in any danger and there is no cause for alarm.
“No further details are available at this stage.”
