THE porch of a house near Rugby has been destroyed after a car crashed into it - while four people were in the lounge.
The incident happened on Monday April 2 at about 5pm in Frances Road in Baginton.
An ambulance and a paramedic area support officer were sent to the scene. A paramedic and doctor from the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance also responded in a rapid response vehicle.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “A black Vauxhall Corsa had left the road and collided with a Ford Mondeo in the driveway of the property. The Mondeo had then collided with the porch of the house causing structural damage.”
The driver of the Corsa was trapped for around 20 minutes while the roof was removed. He was immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board before being taken to University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire. He did not appear to have any significant injuries but was taken as a precaution.
The spokesman added: “At the time of the crash there were four people in the lounge of the house which is next to the porch. Thankfully they were all unhurt.”
