ROGERS Hall community building in Hillmorton has had new doors built and fitted thanks to inmates at Onley Prison.

The were crafted from scratch at the prison’s workshops and fitted by prisoners last week after the hall applied for help from the prison’s community scheme.

The Rev Margaret Simmons, priest in charge of St John’s, Hillmorton, is delighted with the work.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Onley for their involvement,” she said.

“We’re very pleased with the new doors and I’d recommend the scheme to other community groups who may need help with things. I was also made to feel very welcome at the prison when I visited the workshops while the project was taking place. I can’t thank everyone involved enough.”
