BOUGHTON Leigh junior school is bidding a fond farewell to Susan Wilson, who is retiring from the school after 37 years this week.

To mark the end of the school year the pupils threw an end of term leavers’ concert.

Head teacher Carl Thornton said: “We’re very sad to be losing Susan, we’ll miss her enthusiasm and her commitment to her pupils. She was also a great role model for other teachers.

“The children will also miss her greatly, they’ll always remember Mrs Wilson.”

He added: “The concert the pupils performed in was fantastic too, and the parents and teachers thought it was great, it was a fitting end to the school year.”
