HUNDREDS of pounds were raised for charity by Boughton Junior School’s Children’s Centre on Saturday during a community fun day.
The £380 will be going to Children in Need and was raised thanks to the 200 people who attended and several local firms who donated raffle prizes.
Helen Miller, Children’s Centre manager, said: “A parent came up with the idea a few weeks ago and it turned out to be a true community event that raised a lot of money for a great cause.
“Volunteers and staff manned the stalls, and we had 16 raffle prizes donated to us.
Those who donated included Tesco, West Midlands Safari Park and Rugby Theatre.
Other attractions on the day included a bouncy castle and Jolly Jack’s Fun Bus.
Helen added: “We were all delighted with how the day went and would like to thank everyone for their hard work.”
