PUPILS at Oakfield Primary School are making the most of their musical gifts - in more ways than one.

A donation from Rugby Rokeby Lions Club has enabled the school, in Oakfield Road, to buy a set of recorders, books and stands.

Headteacher Heather Fielding said: “Children at Oakfield really enjoy making music and singing, so we are pleased and grateful to receive this funding from Rugby Rokeby Lions Club.

“The children are really enjoying playing the recorders and have already performed in assembly.”

Eight of the school’s pupils gave the Advertiser an impressive performance on Monday of a jazzy number, interspersed with singing, based on just three notes - E, B and G. They had been rehearsing for months.
