Roads closed after village murder

ROADS around the scene of a murder investigation were closed on Monday.

Withybrook Road, Shilton Lane, New Street and Wolvey Road in Bulkington, were closed to traffic and pedestrians until lunchtime for searches to take place.

A reward of £5,000 has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people who carried out the murder of a man in Rugby Road, Bulkington on Sunday afternoon.

Police now know the identity of the man, although his details will not be released until next of kin have been informed and the formal identification process has taken place.

The exact cause of his death is yet to be confirmed.

Police were called to Rugby Road, Bulkington, following a report of a shooting at 4.55pm on Sunday, June 26. On arrival they found the deceased male, who had sustained extensive chest injuries.
