Robber with weapon stole large amount of cash from Frankie & Benny’s

A man carrying what is thought to be a knife snatched a large quantity of cash from the till of Frankie & Benny’s in Rugby on Saturday morning.

Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident at Junction 1 retail park, Leicester Road, at 12.15am.

A spokesman for the police said: “A member of staff was locking up when they were approached by a man carrying with what appeared to be a bladed insutrment.

“A large sum of money was taken from the till and the man left on foot.”

The robber was seen running towards Tesco after the incident.

He is white, in his 30s, five foot eight, medium to stocky build, wearing all black. His black Converse style shoes had white tips.

Witnesses are urged to ring 101, quoting incident number 8 of November 22.
