PEOPLE living in Round Street fear it’s only a matter of time before someone dies because of parking problems.

They are fed up of motorists using their car park, off Lawford Road, Rugby, when signs clearly say ‘residents only’.

There are six parking places, ten people living in the block with five cars.

John Brown said: “We feel we are being passed from pillar to post and enough is enough.

“People working nearby park in the spaces here so residents or their visitors have nowhere to go. There’s people in their 90s living here who may need urgent medical attention. Where would an emergency vehicle go?”

He said it’s an accident waiting to happen.

A spokesman for Rugby Borough Council said: “We sympathise with the residents of Round Street, but there is not an easy solution to their parking difficulties. If the county council were to introduce double yellow lines the amount of parking available to residents will reduce, while a residents parking scheme will make it very difficult for visitors to park and will be costly for the residents, not all of whom have a car.”
