A Rugby craftsman is in the running to be crowned the best wet shaving barber in Great Britain.
Jamie Crawford, 24, works at Mister Robinson’s Barbershop in Church Street.
Jamie is set to face-off against other top barbers in the West Midlands regional final in Northampton on Wednesday.
If he secures the top spot in the regional heat, Jamie will face the most crucial shave of his life at the national final, which will take place inside a boxing ring at Barber UK at the NEC, near Birmingham, on May 21.
Jamie said: “Barbering changed my life.
“I got into cutting hair to make money to survive, to change the way people see me and themselves and to make a difference one cut at a time.
“My great-grandfather taught me how to shave at the age of 12 with the straight razor he received during World War II.
“It was amazing and so intrigued in the art form, I knew it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.”
The annual competition is run by grooming brand The Bluebeards Revenge and industry watchdogs the British Barbers’ Association.
