NEARLY £3,000 has been given to the air ambulance thanks to the generosity of Rugby businesses.

A final total of £2,946.36 was raised at the Rugby Business Awards at Dunchurch Park Hotel last month, through donations, a raffle and an auction. The awards were organised by the Advertiser.

It has all been donated to the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance - which relies entirely on donations to keep saving lives.

Ginny Hunter, advertising manager at the Advertiser, who visited the helicopter base at Baginton, said: “It was such an eye-opener. They are so passionate about what they do. It was quite emotional.

“They do that job purely to save lives. It’s fantastic.”
