TICKETS for the London 2012 Olympics concert in Hyde Park are among the star items going under the hammer at the Rugby Business Awards charity auction.

The biggest event in Rugby’s business calendar is held in two weeks’ time, on Friday June 1, at a black-tie ceremony at Dunchurch Park Hotel. Special guest is comedian Bobby Davro and compering the night will be Ian Richards, back after his storming performance at the 2011 awards.

The evening’s charity raffle and auction gives guests the opportunity to secure star lots including two pairs of tickets to the London 2012 Olympics concert.

The Hyde Park event, on July 27, stars Duran Duran, Snow Patrol, the Stereophonics and Paolo Nutini.

Among the other lots going under the hammer will be a top-quality door worth £1,000 from Rugby’s Nationwide Windows and Doors and a VIP tour of the Cemex tower and lunch for four courtesy of the firm. All money raised will go towards the county’s air ambulance.

The Rugby Business Awards, sponsored by Cemex, will be celebrate the best of Rugby’s business community, with awards for innovation, teamwork, marketing and environmentalism among others. The top honour on the night is the Rugby Business of the Year 2012 title.
