A church held a family fun day to celebrate the relaunch of its refurbished hall.
St Peter and St John’s Church, in Clifton Road, secured a £1,000 voluntary and community organisations grant from Rugby Borough Council to help run the fun day last Saturday.
The event included a circus skills workshop, face-painting, a treasure hunt, music, stalls and inflatables.
More than 200 people attended. Reverend Sheila Bridge said: “The day was a great success as people came to look inside the lovely building and enjoy themselves.
“We’d like more groups from our community to make use of the church hall, as it’s suitable for meetings, parties, classes and music rehearsals.”
Pupils from St Andrew’s Benn Primary School performed a Pop UK Concert in the afternoon.
Cllr Leigh Hunt, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for sustainable communities, said: “The council has awarded nearly £245,000 in grants to community and voluntary organisations this year - money which makes a real difference to Rugby.
“I’m delighted we’ve been able to support the community and family fun day and help St Peter and St John’s Church promote the benefits the church hall can bring to the wider community.”
