Rugby Art Gallery and Museum has extended the run of the Rugby Collection 2015 exhibition.

The popular annual exhibition of art works from the Rugby Collection now runs until Saturday June 6.

The extension follows the rescheduling of refurbishment work at the venue.

This year’s exhibition features a dozen new additions to the collection and a number of pieces which have not featured in recent exhibitions, giving visitors a chance to admire seldom seen works.

The Rugby Collection of 20th and 21st century British art was established by the council in 1946 and now has nearly 200 pieces, including works by LS Lowry, Barbara Hepworth, Stanley Spencer and Bridget Riley.

Recent additions, which feature in this year’s exhibition, include pieces by Robert Priseman, Alexander Adams and Linda Ingham.

Nikki Grange, Rugby Art Gallery and Museum’s arts, heritage and visitor services manager, said: “We’re delighted to be able to extend the run of this year’s Rugby Collection exhibition after rescheduling refurbishment work to later in June.

“The exhibition features a number of new additions to the collection, some of which have been donated by well-established British artists, alongside a selection of the collection’s lesser known works.

“We hope to welcome many more visitors to the exhibition during its extended run.”

Rugby Art Gallery and Museum opens from 10am to 5pm, Tuesdays to Fridays, from 10am to 4pm on Saturdays and from 12 noon to 4pm on bank holidays.
