RUGBY’S largest fireworks display is on the move to a new location.

Now at Whinfield Recreation Ground (on the corner of Clifton Road and Butlin Road - near the football club), the annual Fireworks Spectacular organised by The Rugby Round Table is set to be bigger and better than ever on Saturday, November 3.

With the on-going development of the Ken Marriott Leisure Centre it’s not possible for the Rugby Round Table to use Whitehall Recreation ground this year, which has been home to the event for many years. The annual Fireworks Spectacular has grown and grown so it is now the biggest and best display in the Rugby area and attended by thousands of people and families.

However the new venue provides even more opportunity for a bigger and better display than ever. More room for spectators, easier access and entrance to the park but most importantly the extra space allows the use of more powerful, more impressive fireworks - its going to be a show not to be missed!

The Round Table Team will have a better sound system so that everyone can hear the music which gives the show the ultimate finish. Music from the Olympics, this years chart music and patriotic music to celebrate the jubilee will all be used to take the event to a whole new level.

This year to make things easier tickets are available in advance on-line at a reduced price of just £3 per ticket. Just go to www.rugbyfireworks.co.uk to purchase and find out all the details you need about the event.

Gates will open at 5.30pm, entertainment from Rugby FM and live acts start at 6.00pm and the fireworks go off at 7.30pm. But get there early, beat the rush, enjoy the atmosphere, as well as the entertainment there are food stalls for refreshments.

As ever all profits go to local charities and good causes, and what a fantastic job the Round Table do. The organisation for young men aged between 18 and 45 are dedicated to raising money through various activities - the main one being the Rugby Fireworks Spectacular each year.

They do however do a range of other fund raising; the Bath Of Beans that you will have seen a couple of times in the town centre, sponsored bike rides, towing a bath down the canal with a pantomime horse, collecting money for Children in Need at the Railway Station every year, is just a flavour of the varied ways in which they raise their money.

But it’s not all fund raising, they also develop friendships through social events, sporting activities and meetings. All round a great organisation for young men to have fun, enjoy socialising but who want to give something back to their community.

Money is donated to youth clubs, local good causes, charities which need specific help or groups who help the disadvantaged in the town. All applications are considered on their merits and money donated accordingly.

So not only is the Annual Fireworks Spectacular a great community event, everyone attending helps the community as every penny of profit goes back the community. Well done the Round Table.

So please support this years event, at the new venue of Whinfield Recreation Ground off Clifton Road.

Some of the town centre carparks will be FREE from 5.00pm on the Saturday with a shuttle bus service to help people get to the venue.

There will be some road closures around the area to make it easier to walk to the event and the on-line ticketing will make getting entrance to the park easier and faster. Online ticketing available until 3pm on the 3rd November so plenty of time to buy your ticket in advance at the reduced rate.

So book early, beat the rush and enjoy the discounted price of just £3 per ticket - a real bargain. (£5 on the night)
