A kind-hearted flower shop has handed out its 1,000th free buttonhole to independent traders in the town.
Garden Gate Flowers, in Regent Street, Rugby, has been giving more than 40 colourful pieces to people every Saturday morning since it opened in December last year.
The buttonholes vary each week as the company use seasonal flowers.
Simon Ainley, one of the owners of Garden Gate Flowers, said the buttonholes were a way of brightening the weekend for shoppers and traders.
He added: “We believe that shopping in Rugby Town Centre offers people a great range of wonderful, original and individual shops and we are enhancing the shopping experience by adding a bit of sparkle.
“We now give out over 40 buttonholes every Saturday morning to around 32 of the independent traders who all really appreciate what we do.
“People are always smiling when they see us and it helps to make their shopping experience more positive.
“Traders often post messages on our Facebook page thanking us for making their day.”
