A physics technician at Rugby High School has won a prestigious award.

Senior physics technician Steven Roantree was one of four winners of the SALTERS-CLEAPSS National Award for Science Technicians 2015 presented at the prestigious Salters’ Institute Annual Awards Ceremony which took place at Fishmongers’ Hall, London in December.

Rugby High headteacher Charlotte Marten said: “Steven has played a very important part in helping students to appreciate how exciting physics is as a subject. Without his hard work and dedication, our teachers would not be able to give students so many opportunities to conduct experiments.” Steven, pictured centre receiving his award, said: “I am honoured that my department nominated me for the award. Receiving it was a special day that I was able to share with my family”.
