THE managing director of Brown & Cockerill Lettings in Rugby has been awarded a top industry qualification.

Matthew Sweet has gained a National Federation of Property Professionals Technical Award in Residential Letting and Property Management.

It is not only a nationally recognised industry qualification but is also an entry requirement of the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) - the only professional, self-regulating body specialising in raising and maintaining practice standards in the UK private rental sector.

Matthew, who started his career within property services more than ten years ago, has been building his portfolio of managed properties over the past six months.

He believes all the rigorous hours of studying will show clients old and new that he is not “just another letting agent”.

Matthew said: “I decided to start studying toward this qualification as a result of our office relocation and business expansion and I am thrilled the hard work has paid off and I have secured the Technical Award.

“For me, it is not only a personal achievement but evidence of our professionalism as an agency, showing our clients that they are dealing with someone who is knowledgeable and who they can trust to do a good job.”

Partner Bal Singh, who works with Matthew at Brown & Cockerill Lettings, said: “We could not be more proud of Matthew’s achievement.

“We strongly believe Rugby landlords and tenants will vote with their feet in support of an agency that is run by hard-working property professionals of intelligence and integrity.”

Brown & Cockerill Lettings is among the steadily growing number of agents across the UK working with ARLA and the NFoPP to become qualified and raise standards within their field.
