Rugby man arrested for social network post which could encourage trouble

A 21 YEAR old man from Rugby has been arrested following a posting on a social networking site which may have been designed to encourage criminal disorder.

The man was arrested this afternoon (Friday) under section 46 of the Serious Crime Act 2007 on suspicion of encouraging or assisting offences believing that one or more of them will be committed.

He is currently in custody where he is being questioned by police officers.

Earlier today a 14 year old boy from Leamington was arrested on suspicion of the same offence.

He has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Detective Inspector Zaid Khan said: “Warwickshire Police regularly monitors social networking sites and anyone using them to incite criminal activity of any kind will be arrested and dealt with accordingly.”
