BANDS and singers from around the world will entertain crowds at Caldecott Park next month.
Rugby Music festival will be held on Saturday August 18, with 17 live acts confirmed for the free event. And it’s not only the biggest festiival of its kind to be held in Rugby - those behind it claim it will be the best, too.
Organiser David Head said: “Never before have so many acts come together for one gig in the town.
“It’s going to be the town’s best ever and we can’t wait.”
Among those performing are soul singer Lucy Taylor, who is losing her sight due to an incurable genetic condition, and Maltese vocalist Sophie (pictured above) who has represented her country at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Also now confirmed are the entries to the festival’s “Battle of the Bands” competition. Three young bands from each of Leicester, Kenilworth and Rugby will be playing for the audience text vote and judges’ approval - with the winners going on to play a full 20 minute set just before the headliners.
The festival runs from 10am to 7pm.
