Rugby Borough Council and the town’s politicians have paid tribute to those affected by Thursday night’s terrorist attack in Nice.

Rugby Borough Council are flying the town hall’s Union Jack at half mast today out of respect for the victims (pictured).

They tweeted: “We are appalled at the terrible attack on communities in Nice, and share their grief. #fraternité”

Rugby’s MP Mark Pawsey also expressed his condolences on social media, stating: “Shocked by details of yet another atrocity in France #StandwithNice”

And Rugby Labour East tweeted: “Envoi sympathie au Nice...our thoughts and sympathy to the city of Nice tonight.”
